Job summary

Shift Pursuit in Cape Town seeks an experienced Contracts Engineer (PrEng) to act as Employer's Agent on major infrastructure projects. You will administer contracts under GCC, FIDIC or NEC, oversee variations, claims and dispute resolution, and coordinate between clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure delivery of quality, on time and within budget.

The role requires PrEng registration, at least five years post‑registration experience, and readiness to start ASAP, preferably based in

Qualifications

ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (PrEng).
Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience.
Proven experience in administering construction contracts.
Demonstrated experience acting as the Employer's Agent on infrastructure projects.
Ability to start ASAP.
Preferably resident in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

Administer construction contracts across infrastructure projects.
Fulfill the formal duties and responsibilities of the Employer's Agent on site and project levels.
Oversee contract compliance, variations, claims, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Monitor project delivery to ensure quality, timeline, and budgetary alignment.
Manage relationships and communications between clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
