BVi Consulting Engineers - BVi Group in Cape Town invites applications for an experienced Contracts Engineer & Employer’s Agent to join our office. The role centers on acting as the Employer’s Agent, administering contract requirements, and guiding project teams on infrastructure projects.

Applicants must hold PrEng registration with ECSA and have at least five years’ post-registration experience, with a proven track record in contract administration and mentoring resident engineers.

Qualifications

• PrEng registration with ECSA is required.
• 5 years post‑registration experience is required.
• Experience administering construction contracts and acting as Employer’s Agent on infrastructure projects.

Responsabilités

• Act as the Employer’s Agent in accordance with the applicable contract conditions.
• Administer construction contracts in line with contractual requirements.
• Issue contract instructions, notices, approvals and determinations.
• Assess and certify contractor payment applications.
• Review claims, variations, extensions of time and compensation events.
• Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
• Evaluate contractor performance and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Facilitate contractual communication between the Employer and Contractor.
• Review and approve work programmes and progress schedules.
• Manage contractual risk and maintain accurate, auditable contract records.
• Lead and mentor a team of Resident Engineers.
• Promote quality standards and monitor compliance across site teams.
