Job summary

WSP Africa is seeking a Contract Administrator to join our Power & Energy team in South Africa. You will manage contracts across the project lifecycle, ensure contractual compliance, and mitigate risks on large-scale energy projects for local and international clients.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will support negotiations, variations, and claims, maintain records, and liaise with clients, suppliers, and legal advisors to enable successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Commercial Management, Law, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in engineering, energy, infrastructure, or construction.
  • Experience administering NEC, FIDIC, GCC, or similar contracts.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, claims management, and risk management.
  • Experience reviewing contractual and legal documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Review contracts, agreements, legal docs, and commercial correspondence.
  • Identify contractual risks and escalate issues.
  • Support contract negotiations, variations, claims, and dispute resolution.

  • Monitor deliverables, obligations, and risks.
  • Support governance, reporting, and risk management activities.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and legal advisors.
  • Contribute to successful delivery of complex energy and infrastructure projects.

Job Description

WSP Africa is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to join our growing Power & Energy team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, substations, and infrastructure projects supporting South African and international clients. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role will focus on contract administration, commercial governance, claims management, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation across the project lifecycle.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and legal advisors on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of complex power and energy projects.
What You'll Bring
  • Degree or Diploma in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience within engineering, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Experience administering NEC, FIDIC, GCC, or similar forms of contract.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, claims management, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience reviewing contractual and legal documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Advantageous
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure, power generation, transmission, renewable energy, or EPCM projects.
  • Exposure to commercial governance and dispute resolution processes.
  • Professional membership or accreditation within a relevant discipline.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments.
