Job summary

WSP Africa is seeking a detailed Contract Administrator to join our Power & Energy team, supporting SA and international clients on large-scale power, transmission, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.

The role reports to the Commercial Manager and emphasizes contract administration, commercial governance, claims management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder coordination across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience within engineering, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Experience administering NEC, FIDIC, GCC, or similar forms of contract.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, claims management, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience reviewing contractual and legal documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review contracts, agreements, legal documentation, and commercial correspondence.
  • Identify contractual risks and issues and escalate where appropriate.
  • Support contract negotiations, variations, claims, compensation events, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Maintain contract registers, commercial records, contractual notices, and project documentation.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to project managers and project teams.
  • Monitor contractual deliverables, obligations, and commercial risks.
  • Support governance, commercial reporting, and risk management activities.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and legal advisors on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of complex power and energy projects.

WSP Africa is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Contract Administrator to join our growing Power & Energy team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, substations, and infrastructure projects supporting South African and international clients. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role will focus on contract administration, commercial governance, claims management, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation across the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

  • Exposure to commercial governance and dispute resolution processes.
  • Professional membership or accreditation within a relevant discipline.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments.
