Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Contract Lawyer specializing in Commercial Litigation for a Durban-based project. You will manage all phases of litigation from initial assessment, pleadings, discovery to motion practice and potential settlement negotiations or trial preparation.

The role requires admitted SA counsel with a minimum of 5 years in commercial litigation, strong advocacy and ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment within KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of experience focused on commercial litigation.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for hearings.
• Analyze legal issues, develop case strategies, and advise clients on potential outcomes and risks.
• Represent the company in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings as required.
• Effectively communicate case status and legal advice to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external counsel and experts to ensure comprehensive legal representation.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all litigation activities and outcomes.
