Job summary

Datonomy Solutions seeks a Financial Reporting Accountant for a contract, onsite in Johannesburg. You will support the Group Reporting team with monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting, consolidations, and regulatory submissions.

The ideal candidate is a qualified CA(SA) with 7–10 years in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in insurance or financial services, and strong IFRS knowledge, Excel skills, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA).
• 7–10 years' financial accounting and reporting experience, incl. 5+ years in insurance/financial services.
• Strong group reporting, consolidation or insurance reporting, with life/non-life exposure preferred.
• Knowledge of IFRS and local regulatory frameworks; QRT reporting is an advantage.
• Audit experience, preferably in financial services or insurance.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced reporting environment and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end reporting processes, including preparation and review of results and commentary.
• Assist group Exco reporting with consolidation and commentary.
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting analyses for Investment Committee.
• Assist with regulatory reporting submissions, including SARB where applicable.
• Support license and QRT submissions ensuring accuracy and alignment to records.
• Maintain and optimise reporting workbooks, templates, and reconciliations.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting queries from business units with technical accounting input.
