This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full-time presence at our Isando Site.
This Role will Serve to Provide to key services to the Departments in Supply Chain:
Industrial Engineering service: to ensure the most effective use is made of resources.
Heads up the Lean Manufacture Program and developments for any new systems in respective are well as Manage and Provide training to employees.
Provide an Industrial Engineering Service to make the most effective use of available Manpower, Material and Machine Resources.
Head up, Manage, provide Guidance and Drive the Lean Manufacturing Teams to improve yields, illuminate defects and waste, reduce costs, and improve logistics.
Participate in the Integrated Business Plan and identify any areas for Cost Reduction, identify Plant Capacity Deficiencies and logistical problems.
Provide a Strategic Capacity Plan based on 2 years forecast to identify any shortfall in Capacity. From this motivate a strategic plan and identify and generate any Capex Requirements to provide needed Manufacturing and Logistical Capacities needed for future growth.
From the Strategic Capacity Plan identify upgrades or replacements needed to existing equipment to drive down costs to be globally competitive.
Participate in Global Sourcing Exercises so as to identify and generate additional manufacturing Business and ensure we are globally competitive. Use this in viability exercises for additional Capex Projects and Global Manufacturing opportunities.; Where necessary costing of Global Manufacturing possibilities to attract additional business for RSA plant.
Monitor Plant Efficiencies and Yields to make sure they are tracking the required benchmarks, Costs and budgets. This includes providing Monthly and historical Production Statistics to monitor plant efficiencies.
Work with the Packaging Engineer to facilitate any new product introduction to Manufacturing.
Introduce new standards on production lines and improve working methods by improving ergonomics and introduce labour savings devices on production lines.
Draw and develop any necessary equipment in conjunction with the Engineering Department. Make sure that any new equipment complies with the relevant safety regulations. And optimized OEE.
Update labour standards on relevant systems and maintain Data Base Standard Operation Sheets for Existing Products Labour and Overhead Costing's for use on existing products and for estimating purposes on new products.
Run the Learnership Training Program for Engineering Interns so that they have the relevant Practical Training to obtain their Qualifications and use their skills to further Company Objectives and Projects. Make sure that the content enables us to recover their cost from the Skills Development Fund.
Industrial Engineering Degree and or related degree
Minimum Green Belt Certification
Minimum of 3-5 years Continuous Improvement experience in any industry using systems like TPM, LEAN,20 Keys or related operational excellence system
Some knowledge and experience of Standard and Activity based Costing systems.
Knowledge of Operations Financial Systems.
Extensive knowledge in Operations Financial Reporting and drivers
Highly computer literate in MS Office suite.
Strong interpersonal skills both at higher levels and lower levels.
High levels of creativity and innovation and ability to see the bigger picture.
Strong financial acumen and understanding of business systems and drivers.
