Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Construction Health and Safety Officer to champion safety on Paarl project sites. You will develop and implement site safety plans, conduct regular inspections, and train site staff to uphold high safety standards.

Successful candidates will hold a CHSO credential, NEBOSH or NOSA Diploma, and at least 3 years of construction HSE experience, with strong knowledge of the OHS Act. Join a team committed to safety excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered Construction Health and Safety Officer with a professional body (e.g., SAIOSH).
• NEBOSH or NOSA Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Minimum of 3 years' construction HSE experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the site health and safety plan.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and address hazards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; report findings.
• Ensure compliance with South African health and safety legislation.
• Deliver health and safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Maintain safety records and documentation.
• Advise site management and promote safety culture.
