Placements24 in the Western Cape is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee residential developments in the George area. You will manage every phase from planning and design coordination through to handover, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Lead a diverse team of site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, drive budgets and schedules, maintain regulatory compliance, and report to senior management with clear project updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• At least 10 years of demonstrable residential construction PM experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential techniques, materials and best practices.
• Proven ability to manage complex budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of residential construction projects from conception to completion in George.
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, timelines, budgets and resources.
• Coordinate site activities and ensure adherence to schedules.
• Mentor site supervisors, foremen and on-site personnel.
• Control costs, track expenses and implement savings where possible.

About the Role

Our client, a highly respected developer with a strong presence in the Western Cape, is actively recruiting a seasoned Construction Project Manager for their upcoming residential developments in the George area. This role is critical for overseeing the entire lifecycle of residential construction projects, from initial planning and design coordination through to final handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and within the allocated budget and timeline. You will manage a diverse team of professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering a collaborative and productive site environment. • Proven ability to manage complex project budgets and schedules effectively.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction sites in South Africa.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and relevant building information modeling (BIM) tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in the George area or surrounding Western Cape regions is a distinct advantage.
