About the Role

A dynamic construction and development firm is seeking an experienced Construction Planner / Scheduler to join their team, supporting projects primarily in the Northern Cape , with a focus on operations based near Upington . This role is crucial for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules, ensuring timely and efficient project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of project planning software, an excellent understanding of construction sequencing and logic, and the ability to analyze critical paths and resource requirements. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to create realistic and achievable schedules, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive master project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Define project scope, activities, durations, and dependencies for effective scheduling.
• Analyze critical paths, resource loading, and potential bottlenecks to optimize project timelines.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to gather input for schedule development and updates.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and identify variances.
• Prepare regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and schedule impact analyses.
• Assist in the development of mitigation plans for schedule delays and risks.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure coordination of activities and material deliveries.
• Support the tender process by developing preliminary construction schedules.
• Ensure schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with project objectives and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
