Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Construction Health and Safety Officer to champion safety across project sites in and around Centurion. You will develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs, promoting a strong safety culture with on-site presence and remote administrative duties.

The ideal candidate is COMS-registered, with at least 3 years in construction safety, thorough knowledge of SA OHS Act and Construction Regulations, and excellent training and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Registered Construction Health and Safety Officer (COMS) with a recognised body (SAIOSH).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in construction safety.
• Thorough knowledge of South African health and safety legislation (OHS Act, Construction Regulations).
• Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust health and safety policies and procedures for construction sites in Centurion.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OHS Act and company standards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and corrective actions.
• Deliver mandatory health and safety training to site personnel, including induction programs and toolbox talks.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records, including risk assessments, safety files, and incident logs.
• Advise site management on health and safety matters, promoting a proactive safety culture.

Requirements
