Job summary

Sanlam Life and Savings in Pretoria seeks a Compliance Officer to analyse regulation, identify risks and develop compliance risk management plans for core provisions.

You will compile monitoring plans and reports, escalate incidents, advise management on systems and controls, and promote a culture of compliance across the business. A legal or commercial degree with a compliance qualification is preferred, and FSCA registration would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Legal or commercial degree required or advantageous.
• Compliance qualification would be advantageous.
• FSCA registration or admission as attorney advantageous.
• Experience in financial services compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret regulation and legislation with a risk-based approach.
• Identify and risk-rate applicable laws and regulations for responsible business units.
• Develop and implement Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs).
• Compile monitoring plans and monitoring reports on results.
• Escalate incidents to ensure timely handling of compliance risks.
