Placements24 in Mahikeng, North West, South Africa, seeks a highly specialized Pediatric Nanny and Early Intervention Specialist to support a child with developmental needs. The role blends nanny skills with targeted therapy support to promote growth and well-being in a caregiving environment.

The candidate will implement care plans, assist with prescribed therapies, monitor progress, and maintain detailed records, while collaborating with parents and medical professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of nanny or caregiver experience, with at least 3 years in pediatric care or care for children with special needs.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in early intervention strategies and developmental support.
• Certification or qualification in a relevant field (e.g., ECE, Special Needs Assisting, Therapy Aide) is highly desirable.
• First Aid and CPR certification required, preferably with pediatric specialization.
• Excellent understanding of child development, particularly for children with specific medical or developmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive daily care for the child, including feeding, hygiene, and safety supervision.
• Implement individualized care and development plans as created by therapists and medical professionals.
• Assist with and facilitate prescribed therapies, exercises, and educational activities.
• Monitor the child's health and development, reporting any changes or concerns to parents and medical team.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and positive environment conducive to learning and play.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, following strict protocols.
• Prepare specialized meals and snacks according to dietary needs.
• Communicate effectively and collaboratively with parents, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
• Maintain detailed records of the child's daily activities, progress, and any incidents.
• Adapt routines and activities to meet the child's evolving needs and developmental stages.
