Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is seeking an in-home caregiver to provide compassionate support to clients in their own homes. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor safety, and help maintain independence in a familiar setting.

The role emphasizes empathy, reliability, and strong communication; English and/or Afrikaans are welcome. This position offers part-time hours with a flexible schedule and supervision to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a caregiver or in a similar role is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills in English and/or Afrikaans.
• A valid first aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Help with meal preparation and ensure clients maintain adequate nutrition and hydration.
• Provide light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
• Assist with medication reminders and basic health monitoring as per care plan.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in activities they enjoy.
• Accompany clients to appointments and on errands as needed.
