Job summary

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Sports Management, Development, Physical Education, or related field.
• Proven experience in sports development or community program management.
• Strong coaching methodologies and program planning knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience engaging diverse community groups and building rapport.
• Event management and basic financial management experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency with MS Office and sports management software.
• Passion for sports and community development in Pietermaritzburg.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Pietermaritzburg region.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage community-based sports programs across age groups and abilities.
• Organize and deliver coaching sessions, workshops, and events to promote participation and skill development.
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools, clubs, leaders and government.
• Identify funding opportunities and contribute to grants and sponsorship proposals.
• Monitor and evaluate program impact, collect data and prepare reports.
• Promote inclusive environment and accessibility for Pietermaritzburg residents.
• Collaborate with marketing/communications to raise program awareness.
