Job summary

Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government, Malmesbury is seeking a position that informs communities about government services and assists with access to those services. You will determine community needs and relay them to the right structures, while promoting networks to improve service delivery.

The role requires solid report writing, self-management and the ability to meet timelines, with strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (NQF level 4).
• Knowledge of policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices in public services.
• Understanding of communities in the Western Cape and their functioning.
• Facilitating skills for public participation in policy making and service delivery.
• Experience with MS Office and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Inform and assist communities in the Western Cape with access to government services.
• Determine community needs and communicate to relevant structures.
• Promote networks and enhance local community workers activities for service delivery.
• Compile reports on progress, issues attended to, actions taken and outcomes.
• Stay up to date with services rendered by government and access processes.
