Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Social Development Practitioner to join our team in Benoni. The role centers on implementing social programs to improve the lives of individuals and families facing social challenges, conducting assessments, providing support, and connecting clients with resources.

You will work with a dedicated team, advocate for clients' rights, maintain case files, and navigate welfare policies in Benoni. A relevant degree and SACSSP registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Registered with SACSSP if applicable.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in social development or related field.
• Strong knowledge of social welfare legislation and policies.
• Excellent assessment, intervention, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in working with diverse communities in Benoni.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive social assessments to identify client needs and challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and support plans.
• Provide counseling and guidance to clients on social issues, rights, and available services.
• Facilitate referrals to relevant government departments, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
• Advocate for clients' rights and ensure equitable access to social support systems.
