Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Community Development Practitioner to join our team in Mahikeng, North West. You will identify community needs, facilitate development initiatives, and empower residents to drive sustainable improvements in education, economy, and governance.

You'll collaborate with local government, NGOs, and community groups, delivering training, monitoring impact, and ensuring projects move from inception to completion for lasting benefit.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience in community development work, project management, or facilitation.
• Strong understanding of development principles and local governance in the North West province.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessments and facilitate participatory planning processes.
• Develop and implement community development projects focused on economic empowerment, education, or infrastructure.
• Mobilize community members and stakeholders to participate in development initiatives.
• Provide training and capacity building to community groups and local leaders.
• Facilitate partnerships between the community, government agencies, and civil society organizations.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact and sustainability of development projects.
