CA Financial Appointments is seeking a commercially minded Cost Accountant (CIMA-qualified) who enjoys getting behind the numbers and understanding what drives profitability. The role combines costing expertise with commercial analysis and business insight to move beyond reporting.

You will work across pricing, margins, and profitability, providing insightful analysis and reporting to senior management, supporting budgets and forecasts, and helping optimize inventory and cost-to-serve decisions.

Qualifications

• CIMA qualified finance professional with costing expertise and commercial insight.
• Ability to turn financial information into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and profitability analysis.

Responsabilités

• Analyse customer pricing, profitability and contribution margins.
• Review distribution costs including freight and third‑party logistics.
• Support commercial budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse gross-to-net costs and identify profitability improvements.
• Evaluate promotional activity and ROI.
• Investigate sales price, volume, mix and variances.
• Monitor gross profit performance and margin drivers.
• Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management.
• Support inventory valuations, BOM audits, reconciliations and month‑end processes.

Are you a commercially minded Cost Accountant who enjoys getting behind the numbers and understanding what really drives profitability?

We have an exciting opportunity for a CIMA-qualified finance professional who enjoys combining technical costing expertise with commercial analysis and business insight.

Our client is looking for someone who can do more than simply report on the numbers. They want a finance professional who understands the relationship between pricing, costs, margins and profitability, and who can turn financial information into meaningful insights that support business decisions.

This is an opportunity to get involved in the commercial side of finance, working across customer pricing, profitability, distribution costs and financial performance.

What you'll be doing

• Analysing customer pricing, profitability and contribution margins
• Reviewing distribution costs, including freight rates and third-party logistics
• Supporting commercial budgets and forecasts
• Analysing gross-to-net costs and identifying opportunities to improve profitability
• Evaluating promotional activity and return on investment
• Investigating sales price, volume, mix and quantity variances
• Monitoring gross profit performance and understanding the factors influencing margins
• Providing insightful financial analysis and actionable reporting to senior management
• Supporting inventory valuations, BOM audits, reconciliations and month-end processes
