About the Role Our client, a leading provider of commercial vehicle maintenance services, is seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Technician to operate their Mobile Service Unit in and around Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role offers a dynamic work environment where you will travel to various client sites to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of commercial vehicles. This position is crucial for minimizing vehicle downtime and ensuring the operational readiness of our clients' fleets. Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic assessments, repairs, and preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, vans) at client locations within the Vereeniging area.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, electrical components, and other vehicle systems.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies within the mobile service unit.
• Maintain accurate service records, documenting all work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures while working on client premises and operating the service vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding service needs, repair recommendations, and completion status.
• Occasional duties may involve working at the main workshop for specialized repairs or training.

Requirements

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician with relevant trade certifications.
• Minimum of 4 years of heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
• Proficiency with various diagnostic tools and computer-based systems for vehicles.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and vehicle components.
• Valid driver's license (Code 10/C1 or higher preferred) and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to cover multiple service calls.
• Excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and provide references.
• Ability to adapt to a hybrid work model, including potential travel within Gauteng .
