Job summary

Smart4 Energy in South Africa seeks a Commercial Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the Managing Director, Sales and Procurement teams. The role reports into the Group CFO based in the USA.

Location is Gauteng, Eastrand, with a salary of R1 500 000 to R1 600 000. CA(SA) preferred; CGMA/ACMA considered. Advanced Excel required and mining/industrial sector experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be CA(SA) or equivalent and have strong commercial acumen.
• Experience in mining/industrial sectors is advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial finance function within the South African business.
• Partner with MD, CFO and Sales leadership to drive commercial performance.
• Provide financial insight and analysis for strategic decisions.
• Manage procurement cost controls and supplier performance.
• Collaborate with Sales on pricing, margins and strategy.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and financial models.
• Analyse performance and identify trends for senior management.

Our client is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership while partnering closely with the Managing Director, Sales and Procurement teams, with additional reporting into the Group CFO based in the USA.

• 3 – 5 years within a similar role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the commercial finance function within the South African business.


• Partner closely with the MD, CFO and Sales leadership to drive commercial performance.


• Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.


• Manage and oversee the Procurement function, ensuring effective cost management and supplier performance.


• Work closely with Sales on pricing, margins, profitability and commercial strategy.


• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial models.


• Analyse business performance, identify trends and provide recommendations to senior management.


• Drive improvements in financial controls, reporting and commercial processes.


• Support the business with strategic planning and long‑term growth initiatives.


• Collaborate with international stakeholders and contribute to Group reporting requirement
