Job summary

Amrod in South Africa is seeking a production operator to oversee the Pad department's printing machines. You will operate printers, perform routine inspections, and ensure materials are used efficiently to minimize waste while maintaining accuracy in colour, orientation and print quality.

You will record production output and downtime, verify job cards, assist other departments as required, report unsafe acts, and maintain production rates to meet defined targets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the operations of the machines in the Pad department.
• Effectively operate print machines.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure print presses are in good working order.
• Ensure that correct materials are used effectively, and that wastage is minimized as far as possible.
• Fill in the QC block on layout correctly and check each one in full before commenting in the block paying attention to detail and quality.
• Keep accurate records of production output and any downtime
• Inspect all Job Cards ensuring accuracy of colours, orientation and position of print and qty’s required.
• Assist in other positions and/or departments in accordance with operational requirements.
• Report unsafe acts.
• Maintain production rates according to defined targets and deadlines.
