Job summary

Reddam House Waterfall, part of the Inspired Education group, seeks an experienced Mathematics Educator to deliver IEB-aligned lessons at the FET level. You will foster a positive learning environment, engage teenagers, and contribute to a collaborative teaching team.

Qualifications

• The ability to engage and interest teenagers.
• Minimum three years’ experience teaching Mathematics at FET level (Gr10–12).
• Experience with the IEB programme.
• Confidence with ICT in teaching.
• The ability to coach an afternoon activity would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Be an active contributor and collaborator amongst a dynamic team.
• Plan, prepare and present IEB-aligned Mathematics lessons.
• Establish a nurturing teaching environment that promotes deep learning.
• Serve the community and maintain professional conduct.
• Attend to communications promptly and behave professionally.
• Continuously evaluate and refine teaching practice.
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
• Teach extra lessons on two afternoons per week.
• Participate in the afternoon programme for at least two days.
• Respond to emails and calls within 24 hours.
• Demonstrate care, effort and kindness in the classroom.
• Attend all relevant school events and timelines.
• Provide pastoral care as a Tutor and assess student work.
• Set and mark assessments and provide informative comments.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as needed by the School Head / Deputy Head of Academics.

ROLE SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently plan, prepare and present interesting and IEB aligned Mathematics lessons.

• Teach extra lessons, when required, on two afternoons per week.
• Be actively engaged in the afternoon programme for a minimum of two afternoons per week.

• Exemplify qualities of ‘good’, care, effort and kindness.
• To attend all occasions appropriate to the position.
• To meet all appropriate timelines for action.
• To be a Tutor teacher, ensuring effective pastoral care for a group of students.
• Effectively set and mark assessments and all other forms of student evaluation.
• Write informative report comments.
• To undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head / Deputy Head of Academics fairly determine.

Skills and Previous Experience

• The ability to engage and interest teenagers
