Placements24 invites a Civil Design Engineer to shape coastal and marine infrastructure in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will engage in design, analysis and documentation for harbours, jetties and sea walls, balancing technical rigor with practical field input.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with coastal or structural specialization.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in coastal/marine design.
• PREng or PTechEng registration with ECSA preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydraulic/structural modelling tools (Delft3D, ANSYS).
• Strong hydrodynamics, sediment transport and marine geotechnical knowledge.
• Experience with numerical wave/current modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites along the coast.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design calculations and analysis for coastal/marine structures (wave loads, currents, seabed).
• Develop drawings, specifications and tender docs using CAD software.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for marine projects.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, naval architects and construction teams.
• Use hydraulic/structural modelling tools for analyses.
• Oversee construction phase and ensure quality control.
• Assess rehabilitation needs for existing structures.
• Prepare technical reports and client/regulatory presentations.
