Placements24 is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join its technology team in Upington. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing security controls for cloud environments while collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to build secure architectures.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in cloud security, hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, IAM, IaC, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of cloud security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and data security in the cloud.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation tools.
• Relevant cloud security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain security solutions for cloud platforms.
• Implement and manage cloud security tools including firewalls, IAM, and monitoring.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join their technology team, supporting operations from Upington . This role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing security controls for cloud environments, ensuring the protection of cloud-based assets and data. You will collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to build secure cloud architectures and implement best practices for cloud security. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with essential on-site collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain security solutions for cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and manage cloud security tools, including firewalls, WAFs, IAM, and security monitoring solutions.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability management for cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies and best practices.
• Respond to cloud security incidents and threats, coordinating remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure secure CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.

Requirements
