Placements24 is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable network infrastructure across major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ensure seamless connectivity for cloud-based services.

Responsibilities include implementing secure connectivity, optimizing performance and cost, and enforcing cloud security policies while collaborating with architects, admins, and developers in telecom projects.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of cloud networking experience with hands-on in at least one major provider.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, BGP, VPNs in cloud contexts.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.

About the Role

Our client is expanding its cloud capabilities and seeks a talented Cloud Network Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and high-performance network infrastructure within major cloud environments. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between traditional networking principles and cloud-native solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust security for cloud-based services. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise from anywhere, contributing to innovative projects in the telecoms space.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing, and security groups within cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement and maintain secure network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments using VPNs and dedicated connections.
• Optimize cloud network performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness through vigilant monitoring and configuration adjustments.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices within the cloud, including firewall rules and access controls.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues spanning hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cloud architects, system administrators, and application developers to support cloud initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience specifically in cloud networking, with hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, BGP, VPNs) and their application in cloud environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus.
• Familiarity with container networking (e.g., Kubernetes networking) is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills for a remote working environment.
