Job summary

ATS Client in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable cloud-native systems on AWS. You will help shape modern digital connectivity products used by millions of customers, including airtime, data, rewards and smartphone journeys.

You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, and drive adoption of best practices across engineering teams, delivering reliable, high-performance services in a fast-moving fintech/telecom-like environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in backend software development with Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Proven experience working with AWS cloud services.
• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience building event-driven architectures.
• Strong API design and database optimization skills (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Passion for mentoring and growing other engineers.
