Job summary

Electrum in Cape Town is looking for a Software Engineering Team Lead to guide a team of cloud engineers, provisioning, maintaining, and securing Electrum's cloud infrastructure while ensuring ISO compliance. You'll bridge hands-on technical work with people leadership, drive on-time delivery, and promote cost-awareness across AWS environments in a fast-paced FinTech setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field.
• 2–3+ years' leadership or management experience.
• 3–5 years' hands-on software development and cloud operations.
• Fintech or payments domain experience is advantageous.
• Deep Linux, AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, S3), networking, and IaC skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop team members with regular reviews and career paths.
• Architect cloud infrastructure designs and hands-on contributions using AWS.
• Apply Agile/Scrum to manage capacity and releases.
• Collaborate with departments to prioritise and scope releases.
• Oversee automation, secure AWS environments, and ISO compliance.
• Drive cost visibility and reduction across AWS resources.
