Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Systems, IT or related field (advantageous).
• 3–6 years cloud engineering experience.
• AWS / Azure / GCP certifications (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes).
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, etc.).
• Maintain cloud environments across dev, test and production.
• Monitor infrastructure health and resolve issues.
• Ensure high availability of cloud services.
• Optimise cloud performance (compute, storage, networking).
• Implement cost optimisation strategies (rightsizing, reservations).
• Support migration of workloads to cloud platforms.
• Improve scalability and efficiency of infrastructure.
• Maintain tagging and governance standards.
• Configure VPCs/VNets, subnets and network security.
• Manage hybrid connectivity (VPN, private endpoints).
• Ensure secure and performant connectivity.
• Support integration with on-prem infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues.
• Support CI/CD pipeline infrastructure.
• Automate environment provisioning for deployments.

Lesaka Merchant is looking for a CLOUD ENGINEER to join our Merchants Operations Division. This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual who can design, build and maintain cloud environments using Infrastructure-as-Code and support modern DevOps practices.

Job Purpose

To design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure and environments using Infrastructure-as-Code, ensuring scalable, secure and cost-efficient platforms that support application delivery and business operations.
