Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a senior Clinical Pharmacologist to lead the scientific and strategic aspects of drug development in a fully remote capacity.

You will design Phase I protocols, oversee study execution, analyze PK/PD data, and contribute to regulatory submissions while collaborating with global teams.

MD or PhD with 7+ years in pharma/biotech, excellent scientific communication, and the ability to work independently in a distributed environment are required.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD in Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacy, or related biomedical science.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in clinical pharmacology.
• Proven expertise in PK/PD study design, execution, and analysis with modeling & simulation.
• Strong understanding of drug development from pre-clinical to late-stage trials.
• Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop clinical pharmacology study protocols (Phase I, SAD/MAD, special populations).
• Oversee execution of studies ensuring adherence to protocols, GCP, and regulatory standards.
• Analyze PK/PD data, modeling and simulation results, and DDI studies.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Clinical Pharmacologist to drive the scientific and strategic aspects of drug development for their innovative pipeline, working in a fully remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop clinical pharmacology study protocols, including Phase I studies (first-in-human, SAD, MAD) and special population studies.
• Oversee the execution of clinical pharmacology studies, ensuring adherence to protocols, GCP, and regulatory standards.
• Analyze and interpret PK/PD data, modeling and simulation results, and drug-drug interaction studies.
• Contribute to the development of regulatory submission documents, including Investigator's Brochures, INDs, NDAs, and CTDs.
• Provide scientific and strategic input on drug development plans and compound progression decisions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in clinical pharmacology, regulatory guidelines, and relevant therapeutic areas.

Requirements

• M.D. or Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacy, or a related biomedical science.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in clinical pharmacology within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Proven expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing PK/PD studies and utilizing modeling & simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of drug development processes from pre-clinical to late-stage clinical trials.
• Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in a remote , collaborative environment, contributing to projects that may have ties to areas like Upington without requiring physical presence.
