The role requires ongoing documentation, coordination, and participation in education and policy development, with focus on safe patient care and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
• Thorough knowledge of general / specialized nursing theory and practice.
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical resource to assess, plan, implement and document nursing care.
• Coordinate patient care within the multi-disciplinary health team.
• Initiate and maintain emergency treatment as indicated.
• Prepare daily shift documentation reflecting patient status and staffing.
• Participate in policy and procedure development for patient care.
