About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee and coordinate cleaning operations within a clinical environment. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all cleaning standards are met, facilitating a safe and hygienic atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires strong leadership abilities and an understanding of industry-specific standards in cleaning practices.
Key Responsibilities
- You will manage daily cleaning operations, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards in a clinical setting.
- Oversee the training and development of the cleaning staff to enhance their skills and maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of cleaning procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement cleaning protocols that adhere to health regulations.
- Schedule cleaning staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage throughout the facility, responding to staffing needs as they arise.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that resources are adequately stocked and maintained.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to cleaning services promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and staff performance metrics for reporting and assessment purposes.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a management role, specifically within a cleaning or facilities management context in healthcare or clinical environments.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning standards and regulations pertaining to healthcare settings.
- Proven track record in team leadership, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail, ensuring compliance with all hygiene protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with team members and other departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Certification in Infection Control or related field is a plus.
- Experience with quality assurance programs or audit processes in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning practices and products.
- Previous experience in budgeting and resource allocation in a facilities management context.
- Valid Driver's license
