Job summary

Guardrisk is the undisputed market leader in cell captive insurance and risk solutions in South Africa. This role provides strategic technical claims leadership and independent oversight across a portfolio of cell captive, binder and delegated claims arrangements.

The successful candidate will drive claims governance, leverage data-driven insights, and support regulatory compliance while partnering with stakeholders to deliver value and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ short-term insurance claims experience, including complex or high-value claims.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior technical, advisory, oversight or decision-making role.
• Experience across delegated claims arrangements, cell captive or binder business, complaints and NFO matters, litigation, or large-loss oversight.

Job description

Guardrisk is the undisputed market leader in cell captive insurance and risk solutions. We are renowned for our innovative approach to cell captive structures and other alternative risk transfer solutions for our clients. Guardrisk offers clients custom designed cover and is registered in South Africa as an insurer for all statutory classes of non-life and life insurance business.

Role Purpose

To provide strategic technical claims leadership and independent oversight across a diverse portfolio of cell captive, binder and other delegated claims arrangements.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Insurance, Risk Management, Law, Commerce or a related discipline is preferred.
• A recognised insurance qualification at NQF Level 5 or above is advantageous.
• Minimum five years’ short-term insurance claims experience, including substantial exposure to complex or high-value claims.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior technical, advisory, oversight or decision-making role.
• Experience across several of the following is strongly preferred: delegated claims arrangements, cell captive or binder business, complaints and NFO matters, litigation, liability claims, portfolio reviews, large-loss oversight, regulatory requirements and management reporting.
