Job summary

Aon Re Africa is seeking a Claims & Client Services Administrator to support brokers in reinsurance accounting and administration. The role is hybrid, with the head office in Sandton, offering flexibility to work both virtually and on-site.

The successful candidate will process and reconcile accounts, manage documentation, and ensure timely fund collection while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across clients and reinsurers.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 (matric).
• Diploma or degree in accounting or financial management is required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of general accounting experience.
• Experience in reinsurance accounting is advantageous.
• Credit control experience is desirable.
• Previously managed settlements of claims is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and understand relevant supporting documentation (e.g. terms and conditions of the cover note).
• Process and reconcile accounts and submit documents to clients and reinsurers.
• Ensure timely collection of funds and verify receipts.
• Provide age analysis and SLA audits to management.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and support business development efforts for Aon South Africa.

Aon Re Africa is looking to employ a Claims & Client Services Administrator. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our head office in Sandton.

The role of the technical accounts administrator is to provide support to the brokers in reinsurance accounting and administration functions through understanding and analysing terms and conditions, processing and reconciling all accounts.

What The Day Will Look Like

• Obtain and understand relevant supporting documentation (i.e. terms and conditions of the cover note).
• Be aware of timeframes and deadlines involved in area of responsibility.
• Process and reconcile accounts.
• Submit respective documentation (invoices etc.) to relevant clients and Reinsurers.
• Ensure timeous collection of respective funds and check receipt thereof.
• Submit outstanding statement and respective reconciliation to Finance and match with cash received.
• Check and ensure that all allocations are done and paid out correctly.
• Attend to and resolve queries timely.
• Follow up outstanding balances from clients and/ or Reinsurers.
• Reconcile balances and payments made and pay or refund accordingly.
• Provide age analysis and SLA audit reports to management.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Grade 12 (matric).
• A diploma or degree in accounting or financial management.

Knowledge.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation. (VAT, et cetera).
• Knowledge and understanding of insurance and reinsurance with specific knowledge of facultative.
• Knowledge of reinsurance accounting.

Skills and Attributes.

• Well-developed analytical technical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy with advanced experience in MS Word and Excel.
• Well-developed business and financial skills and acumen.

Experience.

• Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ general accounting experience.
• Experience in reinsurance accounting will be a distinct advantage.
• Credit Control experience
• Previously had a mandate to settle claims.
