About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Claims Adjuster to join their fully remote team, supporting operations primarily around Cape Town . In this vital role, you will manage and process insurance claims efficiently and effectively, ensuring fair settlements for policyholders. You will be responsible for investigating claims, assessing damages, negotiating settlements, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the claims process. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in independent work and communication, contributing to the company's reputation for prompt and equitable claim resolution. As a remote employee, you will leverage technology to manage your caseload and collaborate with colleagues across different locations.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate, evaluate, and settle insurance claims in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines. Conduct thorough damage assessments, including site visits (virtual or in-person as needed) and review of supporting documentation. Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, witnesses, and legal counsel to gather information and explain the claims process. Negotiate fair and equitable settlements within authorized limits, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claim activities, correspondence, and decisions in the claims management system. Identify potential fraudulent claims and escape to the investigations unit as required.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Claims Adjuster or similar role in the insurance industry. Solid understanding of insurance policies, claims investigation procedures, and relevant legislation. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications. Relevant certifications or licenses in insurance claims handling are a strong advantage.
