Job summary

CampusKey Student Living in Stellenbosch is seeking a dynamic Barista/Bartender to join our busy campus hospitality team. You will prepare espresso drinks, cocktails, and beverages, deliver friendly service, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests.

You must be willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Previous barista or bartender experience, strong coffee knowledge, and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee beverages with consistent quality.

• Maintain cleanliness of bar, coffee station and seating areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte and speciality drinks, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Take orders accurately and promptly, explain menu items and recommend drinks based on customer preferences.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Operate espresso machines, coffee brewing equipment and other beverage preparation tools proficiently.
• Keep the bar, coffee station, equipment and seating areas clean and organised.
• Monitor stock levels, replenish supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately.
• Follow health and safety procedures and responsible alcohol service requirements.
• Work closely with team members to keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Assist with events and promotions.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a barista, bartender or in a similar role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of coffee preparation, beverages and mixology techniques.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
