Placements24 in Soweto is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with a Transportation focus to contribute to planning, design, and implementation of road and public transport infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers and urban planners to develop efficient, safe networks, with a strong on-site presence to oversee projects and ensure quality during construction.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 1–3 years in transportation design or planning, and familiarity with VISSIM,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering focusing on Transportation.
- 1–3 years of experience in transportation design or planning.
- Familiarity with VISSIM, SIDRA and CAD tools.
- Knowledge of South African transportation standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of road networks, intersections, and traffic management systems.
- Conduct traffic studies and analyze transportation data to inform design decisions.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for transportation projects.
- Coordinate with municipal authorities and stakeholders on project requirements and approvals.
- Participate in site visits for construction supervision and quality assurance.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant transportation engineering standards and safety regulations.
