Job summary
Placements24 seeks a dedicated Civil Engineer with water resources expertise to join our Upington team. You will plan, design, and implement dams, irrigation systems, and water conservation initiatives in collaboration with environmental agencies and local communities.
You will lead hydrological studies, model water balances, and ensure dam safety and regulatory compliance while engaging stakeholders and delivering sustainable solutions for the arid Northern Cape region.
Qualifications
- Degree in civil engineering with hydrology or water resources.
- 6+ years in water resource engineering or management.
- Proficiency in hydrological modeling software and GIS.
- Knowledge of dam safety, irrigation techniques, and water quality.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments for water projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and oversee water resource infrastructure projects.
- Develop flood management and drought mitigation strategies.
- Conduct hydrological studies and water balance analyses.
- Assess environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including agricultural bodies and government.
- Monitor existing water systems and propose improvements.
