Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer in Upington to design, plan and manage road infrastructure projects across the Northern Cape region.

You will develop road geometries, pavement designs and traffic control measures, conduct site investigations and prepare tender documents, while supporting construction and seeking professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA preferred.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in road/highway design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related road design packages.
• Strong pavement design, traffic engineering and geometric alignment knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare detailed plans for roads, highways, and intersections.
• Conduct site investigations, topographic surveys, and geotechnical assessments.
• Develop Pavement Management Plans and specify materials.
• Prepare tender documentation, BOQ and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with road design codes, safety and environmental standards.

You will be responsible for developing comprehensive road designs, including geometric layouts, pavement design, and traffic control measures, ensuring safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
