Job summary

Advania seeks a Citrix Engineer in Cape Town to deliver day-to-day support, maintenance, and optimization of Citrix services. You will manage incidents, service requests, and changes, working across Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, Workspace, StoreFront, and related components.

You should bring 2–4 years' experience in infrastructure or end-user computing with practical Citrix administration and troubleshooting. Hybrid work policy applies, with balance between office and home.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in infrastructure or end-user computing with Citrix administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and/or Citrix Cloud components.
• Experience investigating common Citrix issues such as launch failures and logon delays.
• Understanding of machine creation services or provisioning services.
• Knowledge of NetScaler/Citrix Gateway and FSLogix is desirable.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and networking.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support, maintenance, monitoring and improvement of Citrix services.
• Progress incidents, service requests and standard changes in line with customer expectations.
• Offer hands-on support across Citrix components listed above.
• Own assigned work through to resolution or escalation.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure reliable user experience and security.

Responsibilities

As a Citrix Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support, maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of Citrix services Your role will progress incidents, service requests, standard changes, and operational activities in line with customer expectations.

You will work within defined support boundaries, owning assigned work through to resolution or appropriate escalation.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• 2-4 years of experience in infrastructure, end‑user computing, VDI, application virtualisation, or a related support role, including practical exposure to Citrix administration and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and/or Citrix Cloud, including Workspace, StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, VDAs, Citrix Director/Monitor, policies, sessions, applications, and desktop delivery.
• Practical experience investigating common Citrix issues such as launch failures, disconnected or stuck sessions, profile faults, printing issues, application availability, logon delays, and general user experience incidents.
• Awareness of Citrix image and provisioning concepts, including Machine Creation Services and/or Provisioning Services, master or gold images, testing, rollout, rollback, and maintenance windows.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of NetScaler/Citrix Gateway, including secure remote access, authentication, certificates, load balancing, session policies, and when to escalate complex configuration or availability issues.
• Understanding of Citrix Profile Management and FSLogix, with the ability to investigate common profile, container, permissions, capacity, and logon issues using documented procedures.
• Awareness of Citrix licensing, licence allocation and usage monitoring, and the ability to identify and upscale licence‑related risks.
• Awareness of Citrix App Layering is desirable where used within supported customer environments.
• Good supporting knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificates, file services, printing, Entra ID, Azure infrastructure, networking, storage, monitoring, and endpoint management.
