Qualifications

• A recognized qualification in Early Childhood Development, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in childcare, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or quality assurance role.
• Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Thorough understanding of child protection legislation and regulations governing childcare services.
• Excellent observational, assessment, and reporting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Upington area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of childminder homes to ensure compliance with safety, health, and educational standards.
• Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing support to registered childminders.
• Develop and deliver training sessions on topics such as child protection, child development, first aid, and curriculum planning.
• Maintain accurate records of all childminder registrations, inspections, and training activities.
• Respond promptly to any concerns or issues raised by childminders, parents, or regulatory bodies.
• Promote best practices in early childhood education and care among the childminding network.
• Assist childminders in developing age-appropriate learning programs and activities for children.
• Ensure all childminders are aware of and adhere to relevant legislation and policies.
• Facilitate networking opportunities for childminders to share experiences and best practices.
• Represent the organization and promote its services within the Northern Cape community.
