Coetzeehr Consultants in Cape Town is seeking a Social Auxiliary Worker for Child & Youth Services to provide psychosocial support to children and families. The role includes home and school visits, client assessments and safeguarding in line with the Children's Act.

The position requires SACSSP registration, 1–2 years' relevant experience, and strong communication and resilience. A valid driver’s licence and own transport are preferred assets for field duties.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work from an accredited institution.
• Must be SACSSP-registered as a Social Auxiliary Worker (proof required).
• 1–2 years' experience with children, youth, families or community work.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work sensitively with diverse backgrounds.
• Resilience to work in high-pressure environments.
• Valid driver's licence with at least 3 years' driving experience.
• Own transport is advantageous.
• Afrikaans and English proficiency are advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Provide psychosocial support to children, youth and families.
• Assist with home visits, school visits and client assessments.
• Support the implementation of safeguarding and child protection protocols in accordance with the Children's Act.
• Facilitate referrals and assist clients in accessing appropriate community and support services.
• Maintain accurate, professional and confidential client records in accordance with POPIA.
• Participate in community outreach, awareness initiatives and preventative programmes.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, community organisations and other stakeholders.
