Job summary

Hire Resolve's client in North-West is seeking an experienced Chief Surveyor to lead underground and surface mine surveying activities. You will ensure spatial accuracy, compliance with MHSA, and support for mining operations and projects.

The role requires a Mine Surveying degree, a Competency certificate, and at least 10 years in surveying with 3 years in a supervisory capacity. You will manage survey resources, databases, and month-end calculations.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mine Surveying or equivalent.
• Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency.
• Advanced Mine Survey and Mine Valuation Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and control underground and surface mine surveying activities.

Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Chief Surveyor to join their mining company based in North-West.You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating underground and surface mine surveying activities, ensuring accurate spatial compliance, measurement and legal compliance in support of mining operations and projects.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate and control underground and surface mine surveying activities.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and applicable survey requirements.
• Manage day-to-day mine survey activities and ensure effective service delivery.
• Provide spatial compliance, measurement and survey support to mining, projects and processing activities.
• Coordinate and monitor survey activities related to mining projects.
• Ensure mining activities adhere to approved mine standards, designs and operational requirements.
• Analyse historical land records and survey data to ensure consistency and accuracy of new measurements.
• Manage survey resources, shift handovers, documentation and daily survey activities.
• Coordinate and review underground and surface survey reconciliations.
• Manage and maintain survey spatial databases.
• Prepare month-end reports and calculations.
• Implement and utilise advanced survey technologies to improve survey accuracy and efficiency.
  

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Degree/Diploma in Mine Surveying or equivalent
• Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency
• Minimum 10 years' experience as a Surveyor within an underground mining environment
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role -MHSA 17(2) appointment
• Advanced Mine Survey and Mine Valuation Certificate
• Registered with IMSSA, SAGC or similar
• Valid Driver's License
