Placements24 is recruiting a Chief Hygiene Officer for its Bloemfontein operations in the Free State. This executive role oversees hygiene and sanitation, establishes standards, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives strategic initiatives across hospitality and facilities management sectors.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, develop training programs, manage audits, and report to senior leadership on hygiene performance and risk mitigation. Competitive package offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in hygiene management or related field.
• Experience leading large-scale hygiene programs.
• In-depth knowledge of SA health legislation (OHSA, Food Safety Standards).
• Strong leadership, strategic planning and decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and reporting skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and oversee hygiene strategies and policies across all operations.
• Ensure compliance with national and international health and environmental regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the hygiene team; foster excellence.
• Conduct audits and assessments to identify risk and ensure standards.
• Develop and deliver training programs on hygiene best practices.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and associations.
• Investigate hygiene incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in hygiene management.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior management on performance and strategy.
• Oversee budget for the hygiene department and resources.
