Job summary

Absa Group seeks a Managing Executive to lead the Data & Analytics function for Business Bank in Sandton. The role shapes the enterprise data strategy, drives monetisation of data products, and builds a unified data operating model across business units.

The executive will lead governance, advanced analytics, and scalable data science initiatives, mobilising cross-functional teams to deliver value while partnering with regulators and stakeholders to enhance performance.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or Business Analytics.
• 15+ years of experience in Financial Services, including at least 7 years in executive roles across strategy and/or transformation in large, complex enterprises.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise Data & Analytics strategy to embed data as a business-critical capability.
• Drive data maturity through governance, platform enablement, and insight activation.
• Monetise data products to enable new value streams and strategic growth.
• Oversee data governance, quality, and regulatory alignment across the group.
