Job summary

Gauteng Provincial Government, Department of Infrastructure Development, seeks a Chief Artisan Grade A-C (Electrical/Mechanical/Building) based at the Far East Rand District Facility Maintenance Hub. Salary: R499 470 per annum plus benefits.

Requires a Trade Test Certificate and at least 10 years post-qualification experience as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman. The successful candidate will lead technical services, manage personnel and assets, ensure safety compliance, and contribute to budgeting

Qualifications

• An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
• A minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience as an Artisan/Artisan Foreman.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical services and support in field, workshop and office activities.
• Promote safety in line with statutory requirements.
• Provide inputs into manuals, drawings and procedures to adopt new tech.
• Ensure quality assurance per specifications and budgeting inputs.
• Prepare and submit reports; update databases and plans.
• Manage artisans, assets and personnel; develop and motivate staff.
• Control expenditure to ensure cash flow; monitor KPIs.
• Liaise with relevant bodies on technical/engineering matters.
