Job summary

Gauteng Provincial Government's Department of Infrastructure Development invites applications for Artisan Production Grade A-C: Plumber. Two posts exist at East Rand District Facility Maintenance Hub with a package of R253,341 – R424,371 per annum plus benefits, based on experience after a Trade Test Certificate.

Requirements include an appropriate Trade Test Certificate, 0–2 years' experience, a valid driver's license, and knowledge of Public Service Legislation and OHS Act.

Qualifications

• Trade Test Certificate is required.
• 0–2 years' experience in plumbing or related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of Public Service Legislation, Policies and Regulations.
• OHS Act familiarity.
• Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
• Computer-aided technical applications.
• Strong communication, problem solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce designs according to client specifications and production limits.
• Render quality assurance of produced objects.
• Inspect equipment and facilities for technical faults and repair as needed.
• Test repair equipment against specifications.
• Service equipment according to schedule and maintain quality.
• Compile and submit reports; contribute to operational planning.
• Maintain job records; supervise and mentor staff.
• Keep up with new technologies for development.
