About the Role

This senior leadership position is responsible for the design, development, integration, and certification of complex aircraft systems across new and existing platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the aircraft systems engineering department, including design, development, testing, and certification of all onboard systems (e.g., avionics, powerplants, hydraulics, environmental control).
• Define system architecture, requirements, and specifications for new aircraft development programs.
• Oversee the integration of various aircraft systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, flight test, and program management, to ensure project success.
• Develop and implement advanced engineering methodologies and best practices.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a high-performance culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Represent the company in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities (e.g., SACAA, EASA, FAA).
• Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively for assigned projects.
• Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to ensure system integrity and safety.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in aircraft systems engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in the design, development, and certification of complex aerospace systems.
• Deep understanding of systems engineering principles, DO-178C, DO-254, and other relevant aerospace standards.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with regulatory certification processes is mandatory.
• Familiarity with aerospace design software (CAD, CAE) and simulation tools.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of other relevant languages is a plus.
