Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced AI Ethics Lead to guide responsible development and deployment of AI technologies in Mahikeng. This pivotal role ensures AI initiatives adhere to ethical standards, promoting fairness, accountability, and transparency.

You will establish and implement comprehensive AI ethics frameworks, policies and governance structures, shaping the ethical trajectory of AI within the organization and contributing to trustworthy AI systems that benefit society.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in ethics, philosophy, law, CS, or related field focusing on AI ethics.
• 7+ years in ethics, responsible innovation, or technology policy with AI/ML exposure.
• Strong understanding of bias, fairness, privacy, and transparency in AI and governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and champion the organization's AI ethics strategy, policies, and best practices.
• Lead ethical reviews and risk assessments for AI projects, identifying potential biases and unintended consequences.
• Establish governance mechanisms for AI systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Educate and advise internal teams on AI ethics principles.
• Collaborate with regulators and academic institutions on AI ethics matters.
