Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and dedicated Chemical Process Engineer to join their growing operations in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is integral to the ongoing optimization and safe operation of our client's chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for a range of activities, including process monitoring, troubleshooting, data analysis, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. This position offers a dynamic blend of office-based analysis and hands-on involvement in the plant environment, providing a comprehensive understanding of our client's operations in the heart of the Western Cape . The successful candidate will work closely with production teams, maintenance, and quality control to ensure maximum efficiency, product quality, and adherence to stringent safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
• Provide technical support to the production team, assisting in the troubleshooting of process upsets and equipment malfunctions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of process modifications to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation (including P&IDs and PFDs updates), and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure equipment reliability and proper functioning of process units.
• Support capital projects by providing process engineering input during design, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations relevant to the operations in Paarl .
